병에 소주가 담겨 있다. 그러면 그 병은 틀림없이 소주병이다.
그런데 그 소주를 쏟아내고 그 병에 생수를 부었다. 이제 그 병은 여전히 술병인가, 아니면 물병인가?
그 안에 무엇이 담겨 있느냐에 따라 그 병이 술병이 되기도 하고 물병이 되기도 한다.
물병에서 술 냄새가 여전히 날 수 있지만 그렇다고 해서 술병인 것은 아니다.
우리 안에 그리스도가 계시면 우리는 그리스도인이다.
비록 그의 성품과 인격이 우리에게서 충분히 드러나지 않을지라도 우리는 여전히 예수님의 사람이다.
마귀는 이 점을 공략하며 우리를 비방한다.“네 꼴을 봐라.”
하지만 우리의 정체성, 곧 우리가 누구냐 하는 것을 결정하는 것은 우리의 불완전한 성품과 인격이 아니다.
완전한 인격과 성품을 가진 예수님이 우리가 누구인지를 결정한다. 그의 은혜 안에서 강하고 견고하라.
Soju Bottle, or Water Bottle?
"The bottle contains soju(similar to a Russian Whisky). Then without a doubt, that bottle is a soju bottle.
However, if you pour out the soju and fill the bottle with water, is the bottle still a liquor bottle or a water bottle?
Depending on what is contained within, the bottle can be either a liquor bottle or a water bottle.
Even if the smell of alcohol might persist in the water bottle, it doesn't make it a liquor bottle.
If Christ is within us, we are Christians. Even if His character and personality might not be fully revealed through us,
we are still people of Jesus.
The devil attacks us in this aspect, accusing us,
'Look at yourself.' But our identity, determining who we are, is not based on our imperfect character and personality.
It is determined by Jesus, who has a perfect character and personality."
Be strong and firm in his grace.
