치매는 주로 노인 분들의 뇌기능이 손상되면서 인지 기능이 떨어져서 생기는 질환이라고 한다.
심해지면 가족을 알아보지 못하기도 한다. 이런 생각이 들었다.
“남편을 평생 원망하던 아내가 좋은 치매, 즉 남편의 허물을 다 망각하게 되고
남편이 자신에게 잘 해 준 것만 자꾸 기억나는 치매에 걸린다면 얼마나 좋을까!”
하나님은 우리 죄와 허물을 기억지 않는다.
그것은 뇌기능의 손상으로 인해 의지와 관계없이 기억하지 못하는 치매와는 다르다.
하나님은 우리 죄와 허물을 기억하지 않는 것이지 그것을 기억하지 못하는 것이 아니다.
예수님이 우리의 죄와 허물을 짊어진 영원한 제물로서 하나님 앞에 계시기 때문에 하나님은 우리를 은혜로 대하신다.
하나님은 우리가 세상 속에서 그 분의 조건 없는 용서와 사랑을 반사하며 살아야 한다고 명령한다.
“무엇보다도 서로 사랑할지니 사랑은 허다한 죄를 덮느니라.”
Good dementia?
Dementia is a condition that primarily occurs in the elderly,
where cognitive function declines due to brain damage, resulting in impaired cognitive abilities.
In severe cases, individuals may not even recognize their own family members.
I had this thought: "Imagine if a wife who had resented her husband for a lifetime developed a good dementia,
where she forgets all of her husband's faults and only remembers the good things he did for her."
God does not remember our sins and transgressions.
This is different from dementia, where memory loss occurs due to brain dysfunction and is unrelated to will and intent.
God chooses not to remember our sins and transgressions,
but it's not that He forgets them. Because Jesus bore our sins and transgressions as the eternal sacrifice before God,
God treats us with grace.
God commands us to reflect His unconditional forgiveness and love in the world,
living above all in love for one another:
"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."
